Stillness Trainings

Meet the Course Directors and Senior Tutors

Terry Collinson BCST, RCST, SRP, APAM

Terry runs a busy Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy practice in Sydney and the Central Coast area of NSW.
Having trained in Craniosacral Therapy with Franklyn Sills in London and at the Karuna Institute in Devon, UK (1995/6), Terry was invited to train to teach the biodynamic work over five years with Resonance Trainings and Paul Vick in Australia and New Zealand.  Terry completed the Advanced Diploma in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy with Resonance Trainings in 2003.
Terry realised her passion for helping people during her first year at University studying Soil Science where she discovered Physiotherapy and,  inspired by the potential for healing in this profession she graduated in Edinburgh as Physiotherapist in 1972.   For most of her professional life, Terry has had articles published, presented conference papers and key lectures in Edinburgh, the UK, and Australia.
During her Physiotherapy student days and, inspired by her pregnancy and birth experiences, Terry developed a keen interest in working with women in pregnancy, during birth and then with new mothers and the newborn, and more recently working in men's health.  She continued after graduation specialising in this field for over 25 years, teaching with the Childbirth Education Association and consultant to the Nursing Mothers Association.
Terry is also a Reiki practitioner and sincerely acknowledges her teacher, Barbara McGregor and the practice of Reiki to the beginnings of her consciousness of the metaphysical causation of disease, the mind-body connection and the felt-sense of how the body heals itself. Terry's experiences with Reiki led naturally to the development of a biodynamic and resonant way of being in life and presence with the patient’s system.
Terry is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (MAPA), the Pacific Association of Craniosacral Therapists (PACT), the UK Craniosacral Therapy Association (CSTA), and is an accredited  Supervisor for PACT and the CSTA. She is Co-Course Director and Senior Tutor together with Brendan Pittwood as ‘Stillness Trainings’ in Australia & New Zealand.
Terry continues to be inspired by the profound nature of the biodynamic and resonant approach to life and work, and in the body’s drive towards health with its innate ability to heal itself.

Brendan Pittwood RCST, RBT, PBT

Brendan is a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist, Prenatal and Birth Therapist and Remedial Body Therapist who runs a busy practice near New Plymouth, New Zealand.
Brendan’s focus is on the family, specialising in the treatment of babies, children & birth process related issues.
When Brendan left school, his passion for understanding how things worked led him to become a motor mechanic. He became involved with engineering, pulling things to pieces and figuring out how they worked and getting them going again. During that time Brendan developed an interest in Complementary therapies, particularly massage but this therapy didn’t fit the bill completely, so he left the engineering world & began training in Osteopathy, engineering of a different sort, with a great perspective to view the human organism.
Brendan did not pursue Osteopathy as a career and instead trained in and graduated as a Remedial Body Therapist and in the following year, he completed his Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) training with Resonance Trainings and Paul Vick in 2002, and the Advanced Diploma in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy in 2003. Brendan also began his training to teach the biodynamic approach and became the Administrator for Resonance Trainings in New Zealand in partnership with Paul Vick.
From 2004, Brendan travelled to Santa Barbara to study with Dr Ray Castellino in Prenatal and Birth therapy and dynamics. This training was about making sense of life experience from conception to 3 years old. Looking at how we all have responded to, or compensated for, or changed as a result of our early life experiences - linking physiology and behaviour. This work plays a significant part in making sense of supporting the babies and children that attend Brendan's clinic today.  The month after the graduation of that training, Brendan and his wife Joanna's twins were born. What timing!
Brendan has also taught business practice workshops and facilitates Birth Process Womb Surround workshops. He continues to attend courses in Brain Science, Attachment, Education and Development. Life, relationship and supporting community is an absolute passion, particularly giving children a voice.
Through Ray Castellino Brendan is working toward an Educators certificate in this field, hosted by APPPAH, the Association for Pre and Perinatal Psychology and Health.  Brendan has also graduated in Experiential (Hakomi) Psychotherapy and, although not yet an official facilitator, Brendan has initiated groups in the study of Giraffe language, (Developed by Dr Marshall Rosenberg, otherwise called “non-violent communication”, or NVC).
From its inception Brendan held many positions, including Chairman, on the Executive Committee of the Pacific Association of Craniosacral Therapists (PACT), an organisation set up to support the BCST community in the Australasia-Pacific region and to assist in broadening awareness of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy.
Brendan brings new elements, depth and understanding to the nature of the biodynamic and resonant approach to Craniosacral Therapy, and works together with Terry Collinson as ‘Stillness Trainings’.

Sarah Morgan RCST

Sarah is a Registered Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist (BCST) and Member of the Pacific Association of Craniosacral Therapists. She runs a part-time practice in Horsfield Bay in the Central Coast area of NSW and also works in the corporate sector in Sydney.

Sarah has been working with alternative therapies since 1990. Her initial training was in Hypnosis where she became fascinated by the way we deal with life and its challenges.

This fascination led to further study of the mind, body, spirit and she has trained in Kinesiology, Rekindled Ancient Wisdom or "RAW", Reiki, Essence of the Goddess Archetypes, and the Emotional Freedom Technique, or "EFT".

Sarah attended almost all of the introductory Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) workshops since they began in Australia in the early 2000s. She graduated in BCST with Stillness Trainings in June 2013 and since that time she has assisted in almost all introductory workshops, volunteered her services to manage the finances, and for Central Coast NSW workshops and training she has put on her apron and provided the much enjoyed vegetarian, gluten-free lunches and refreshments.

Sarah is awed by the potency of BSCT and how in particular the training has facilitated changes within herself on both a personal and professional level.

Combined with Sarah's observation of how this simple yet dynamic modality of BCST slots in perfectly with her other skills, and with the expansion of her study of Anatomy and Physiology, she is once again amazed at what a perfect vehicle we have been given to ride through the journey of life - the body.

As she continues to learn the fundamental skills required to teach this work, Sarah is excited to be able to assist Terry Collinson, Brendan Pittwood, and the students on the introductory, postgraduate and professional Practitioner trainings. Sarah facilitates Stillness Trainings' Anatomy and Physiology course and looks forward to the next level of discovery for herself, and each group of students, through BSCT.

Evonne Bennell RCST, AKA, ATMS

Evonne is a Sydney-based Neuro-developmental specialist, Kinesiologist and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist who helped to found Stillness Trainings. Her experience of developmental disorganisation is a very personal one, and in seeking answers and support for herself and her family, she has spent the last 20 years both practising and educating herself.

She understands the financial challenges and time constraints parents face and the balancing act of visiting many therapists, following dietary requirements and caring for several children. She's passionate about sharing low-cost, effective movement and play-based solutions. These are activities kids will actually want to do while evolving into being their full potential.

Evonne also offers Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy sessions which may be integrated where appropriate with her neurodevelopment clients.

Qualifications

Evonne is a registered Level 5 accredited Kinesiologist, licenced Educational Kinesiologist/Brain Gym Consultant, a practitioner of Move to Learn, an accredited Rhythmic Movement Training (RMT), provider and Instructor of levels 1, 2 and 3 and school readiness. She's also a certified Brain Gym and Movement-Based Learning Instructor and holds a post-graduate diploma in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy.

As Evonne's experience and knowledge have grown, her approach has also evolved. She has realised by working with babies and young children many developmental, attention and learning challenges are effectively supported in the early years in readiness for school. Although it is never too late to consolidate and stabilise the foundations and support change it's far better to lay solid foundations if you can.

Many factors can contribute to babies and children who exhibit developmental interruptions, low tone or biochemical imbalances. Regardless of the reason, Evonne believes that revisiting the developmental foundations and inhibiting/integrating the primitive reflexes is key to supporting any other therapy because a baby naturally progresses through its milestones via the automatic movements of the primitive reflexes. If these primitive reflexes remain active, they may impede the developmental process.

In some children, these interruptions become ongoing issues such as emotional development, behavioural problems, delays in speech, gross and fine motor skills. Or less easy to define difficulties in learning and living.

Rhythmic Movement Training (RMT), along with BCST, is one of the cornerstones of Evonne's practice including the creation of her "Evolve into Being" home programs. In many cases, younger children and babies require very little active therapy before their bodies respond. But there's no doubt that older children and adults benefit too.

Evonne also offers learning support for older children and adults including the elderly, anyone who would like to improve or maintain function and organisation whether they have gaps or delays in development, sensory processing issues, learning challenges or emotional resilience and self- regulation.

Evonne has an ongoing interest in biochemistry, the brain-gut connection and its link to a healthy immune system and general wellbeing. She continues to study the impact of retained primitive reflexes. Her focus is on learning and emotional stability and the ongoing exploration of sensory integration and developmental movement.

Evonne offers a variety of training and professional development seminars throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the USA. More information at www.evonnebennell.com
